Interislander Summer Festival - Harness Races:


Sunday 29th January 2012:

The Interislander summer festival continues with a relaxing and entertainment filled day at the harness racing! Once again, the event runs for the whole day from 9.30am-5.30pm at the Tauranga Race course in Greerton, Tauranga (approx 12 minutes drive from our location). Tickets are $10 for general admission or you can purchase a Home Straight Gazebo Lawn Space for 10 people for $100. For more information and for tickets, please visit  www.theraces.co.nz

The Port of Tauranga Half Ironman:

Is an annual event held in Mount Maunganui. This event is the toughest multisport event and consists of a 2km swim, 90km bike ride and a 21.1km run. There will be more information on the 2012 event at a later date.

The Tauranga City Air Show:

Is an annual event held at Tauranga City Airport. The event is held over Auckland Anniversary weekend which will be the 28th and 29th of January 2012. The jam-packed two days will be filled with aircraft displays, amazing acrobatic airshows, skydivers, gliders, terrific food and refershments and plenty of family-fun programmes and activities. Classic Hits Winery Tour:
Friday 10th February 2011:

The extremely talented Gin Wigmore headlines this year's winery tour along with reformed legends The Mutton Birds and newcomers Avalanche City. This event is now in it's sixth year of running, previously known as the More FM tour, now known as the Classic Hits Winery Tour. In 2012 the event will hold 16 shows in 14 venues, one of which is Tauranga. Tickets go on sale for this event on the 7th of November with an early bird offer of $59 available right through the month of November, tickets going up to $69 in December. The event will be held at Wharepai Domain on the cnr of Cameron Road and Hamilton Street (virtually across the road from our location!) The event runs from 5pm - 10pm. State NZ Ocean Swim Series:
Saturday 10th March 2012:

Enrollments are still open for those people wishing to take part in this event held at Mount Maunganui beach (approximately a 10 minute drive from Tauranga). There is a distance and challenge for every ability from the 200m state Oceankids to the 2.6km "I'm going long" challenge. Each challenge has a different entry fee ranging from $20 to $45. The day runs from 6am - 12 noon. For more information visit  www.oceanswim.co.nz

Maketu Kaimoana Festival:
Saturday 10th March 2012:

This Maketu festival started in 2008 to celebrate all things Maketu including the location, culture and seafood. The festival is a fabulous afternoon of great food cooked in traditional styles and accommpanied by live music and entertainment and great cooking demonstrations by top chefs! Because of the strong community focus, the Kaimoana festival has been able to help raise money for the Maketu Fire Brigade, surf life saving club, coastguard, Whakaue Marae, the primary school and many other youth programmes in the community. Maketu is located approx a 40 minute drive from our location, past Te Puke. For more information on this event visit the  Maketu Festival website.

Flavours in the Bay:
Saturday 10th March 2012:

This is a one day boutique festival celebrating the wonderful food and drink the area has to offer. This event is for the whole family and will have an array of fresh food and wine stalls offering free samples to taste. There are only 2500 tickets available for this event and early bird tickets are available until the 5th of February 2012 and these are $20. After this date, general admission tickets are $35 and family passes for 2 adults and 3 children are $50. The fresh, local produce available include: seafood, cheeses, speciality meats, ethnic food, gluten free food, gelato and non alcoholic beverages. The wine stalls include samples from: Mills Reef Winery, Steve Bird Winery, Morton Estate and Vidal. This event runs from 12 noon until 6pm and is being held at Blake Park in Mount Maunganui (approx an 11 minute drive from our location). Tauranga Weetbix TRYathlon:
Sunday 1st April 2012:

The weetbix kids TRYathlon will be running into it's 20th year this year so make sure you are apart of it! There are 12 different locations for this event throughout NZ and Tauranga will be one of them! Enter into a variety of different categories including individual, team or school teams. Early bird tickets are currently available with prices starting at $32 (for an individual). For more information on the categories and tickets, visit the website  www.tryathlon.weetbix.co.nz. The event is open to those children between 7-15 years and is for any fitness level. Every participant of the tryathlon receives a weetbix kids race t-shirt, a medal, certificate and complimentry breakfast - of weetbix of course! The tryathlon is to be held at Memorial Park on Devonport Road which is approx a 5 minute drive from our location.

The Exponents 30 year anniversary concert tour:
Thursday 5th April 2012:

To mark this 3 decade milestone, this Kiwi Rock band has announced a 28 date concert tour from Whangarei right through to Invercargill! The Exponents major hits include; "Why does love do this to me?", "Who loves who the most?" and "I'll say goodbye" (even though I'm blue). Tickets go on sale from Monday 21st of November and can be purchased from  ticket master. The cost is $50 per person and is an R18 event. The gig is taking place at the Papamoa Tavern which is  located at 20 Domain Road, Papamoa which is approx 21 minutes drive from our venue. The event runs from 7.30pm.

Tauranga Jazz Festival:

An annual event usually held over the Easter weekend, it is a great day out for all the family - not to be missed. The festival features jazz, blues, soul, swing and funk music and the whole thing is absolutely free! There will be more information on the 2012 event at a later date.

Bay Park speedway:

This season runs in the summer season - usually from about November - April. Racing commences at 7pm and finishes at 10pm - gates open from 5pm. For more informatio and to see upcoming events being held at Baypark visit www.bayparkspeedway.co.nz

Bay Park Speedway is located at 81 Truman Lane, Mount Maunganui. This is approx a 15 minute drive from our location.
